Maximo: Ghosts To Glory Description

Maximo took us by surprise, for little did we expect the greatness that resides within this game. Do you remember the classic arcade games Ghosts 'N Goblins and Ghouls 'N Ghosts? Maximo is the 128-bit, modern day incarnation of these childhood stealers. Instead of just updating the series with more of the same, Capcom has taken the valiant step of changing the game into a 3D platformer. Time to save the day one more time. The arch villain Archille has captured Maximo's sorceress girlfriend and fatally wounded our hero. Archille has some mad drilling plans that are awakening the dead. The Grim Reaper is less than happy about the undead returning the land of the living and offers Maximo his life back in return for vanquishing Archille. One last chance for life, and to save the girl, so don't blow it. The game begins with our hero on the outskirts of the city that he must enter. The hordes of zombies that roam that land must be dealt with your trusty sword. Luckily, Maximo sports a suit of armour that can withstand a few attacks and acts like a second life. Lose this and you'll have to make do in your underwear. Your character can be customised with new skills and abilities as you make progress through the game. More than 40 new skills can be learnt making the game different each time you play it. A unique save and continue system makes the game more challenging. You need to earn continues and make your save points with special moves. The gameplay is typically Capcom, refined and playable. Maximo is a joy to play and has the visuals to impress.
