GT Advance Championship Racing Description

One of the more common complaints people have about Nintendo's products or systems is that the graphics are cute. Advance GT is a portable racing game from MTO designed especially for the Game Boy Advance and it is far from cute. Imagine if Gran Turismo and Mario Kart got drunk at an office party and one electronic thing led to another. A portable Gran Turismo look-a-like for the Advance? This is what we want. What MTO has managed to squeeze into GT Advance is truly amazing. For a start there are over 45 different cars from eight manufacturers and 32 different tracks. What modern racing game would be complete without the option to upgrade and tune your car? An incentive to come first is that occasionally you win new, improved parts for your car that obviously improve either their handling or performance. But how does it play? From the very start, the quality of the presentation and the gameplay hits you. GT Advance has a nice racing feel to it. The use of clever mode 7 rotating backgrounds means that you actually get a sensation of speed. Imagine holding the racing line, braking, dropping a gear, keeping your revs, hitting the apex and powering out to make up that vital position. GT Advance has it all. 45 tuneable cars, 32 circuits and a two-player link-up mode. We all know that two-player racing is where it's at, and if you have a friend with a Game Boy Advance and a copy of GT, get ready for quite possibly the best portable multi-player racing action ever.
