Cooking Mama Description

Already a smash hit on Nintendo DS, wannabe cookmeisters can now feel the heat in the Wii kitchen this time around as they don the apron of a budding young chef under the watchful gaze of Mama. You can create dishes from a dazzling menu of everyday snacks and gourmet meals using the sensitive and sophisticated Wii remote and nunchuk controllers. The combined controls make for much greater sensation of realism and depth when preparing dishes for benevolent but perfectionist Mama, and is just one of a whole (bread)basket full of new additions and features for the Wii version of the best-selling cooking simulation. Cooking Mama's ingredients (we hesitate to use the word 'features') include a variety of gameplay modes, including over 200 mini-games and a practice mode where you decide what to cook, how long to cook it for, and how to present it. Mama is always on hand to offer a word or two of advice if you overcook the omelettes or sizzle the sausages a soupcon too much.

I rather enjoyed Cooking Mama on wii as it added more multiplayer features and a variety of new cooking methods not before seen on the DS version. It is a very light hearted game for those who want to test out the fun side of the wii's capabilities in terms of more diverse play. It makes quite a fun party game too as many of my friends enjoyed versing each other at it. Hooray for Mama!

I'm not sure what I was expecting from this title really. But I'm willing to give anything a try. This made it into my Wii just once, and will be returned tomorrow. I guess perhaps little kids might like it, hence the 3+ rating, but even my son who is 11 wouldn't find any interest in this beyond a few minutes play. The annoying voice and music used in game just make it worse!
