Kororinpa Description

Kororinpa is one of those games with balls. It also has many mazes, and demands that you use all your skill and poise with the Nintendo Wiimote. A keen eye and a steady hand will help you with the precise moves you'll need to make to progress in Kororinpa. There's a selection of quirky balls, each with their own characteristics and peccadilloes, to manouevre through complex 3D mazes. All you need to do is tilt the Wiimote. So far, so Monkey Ball-esque, and the main similarity to the aforementioned is in moving the maze - not the ball. As the maze is tilted the ball will move as it would in real life, as if pulled by gravity. Players must also try to collect all Red Crystals along the courses to unlock the next maze. There are 50+ mazes in total, and five different environments on offer, including Toy Land and Candy Land. Each of these features its own unique obstacles and music, and somewhere along the way, you'll see green crystals too. Collect these, and you will unlock secret environments and more stages. As we mentioned in the first paragraph, there are different balls to select in Kororinpa. Each one has a varying level of response, slide, speed and bounce. Careful ball selection is imperative in order to successfully complete the whole puzzle.

Wow! This is a very good game.. very mellow. There is no time limit on the levels, although you can try and do the levels in the quickest time. Difficulty does build up, and you gain extra marbles with different abilities as you go on. You also unlock other things, such as different music, etc.. I would say this game is like Monkey Ball, very similar, in fact. However, it is not as annoying as Monkey Ball. If you've ever played MB, then you've played this, but you're more likely to stay calm with this game. The use of the WiiMote is great... tilt the WiiMote and the board tilts with it, the marble moves as you tilt, and you are playing the game level after level... you probably won't put the game (or WiiMote) down. Graphics are fairly average for today's style of gaming. Music can be repetative. 2 complexity 4 pick up and playability 3 graphics 3 concept 2 music PS. I'd buy this game, but only as a pre-owned & very cheap.

I had played Monkey Ball just before I received this. When I started playing, I was amused by the music, and loved the very detailed graphics. Game play was fun, and a challenge at first. When you start to get old, you hands get shakey, and thats not ideal for this game. I quickly becomes apparent that there is not that much variation in the game play, and that the music quickly becomes grating if you have the volume too loud. You can unlock extra items which is fun and a challenge including getting to the secret levels. I play for maybe 15-20 levels before I found myself getting frustrated about getting further, and then thinking about just what would change in the game. Not enough did change for me. It was certainly a fun way to spend a few minutes seeing if you could beat the next level or find the difficult green crystal, but not a game I could see myself playing for a long period. 2 player split screen mode was very hard to play as the other screen easily distracts you.
