Super Fruit Fall Description

Super Fruitfall - it's a Brain Game and a unique puzzle game concept which is ideally suited to the Nintendo Wii casual family-gaming philosophy and the play mechanic is crucially simple-to-play but difficult to master. The Brain Game category has exploded in recent years and Super Fruitfall combines the best ingredients to test your mental dexterity. Players have a simple objective, to clear the fruit - but which is the best way from the thousands of possibilities? The objective of Super Fruitfall is to eliminate every piece of fruit by moving them around a puzzle grid until they become grouped together. The fruit can only be moved by rotating the play area in one of three ways. The strategy is in using your brain to employ the most-effective way to get the fruit to fall and special bonuses are awarded for spectacular combinations. Sounds simple, eh? - Just you wait! Super Fruitfall is a totally compelling brain game, easy to understand and with a simple control system. It is that uncomplicated control system that opens the game-up to the whole family and with the head-to-head feature you can compete in an exciting two-player mode. The perfect difficulty curve is guaranteed to take your brain and have you coming back for more as the challenge increases and as those puzzle mazes become more-complicated.

This game seemed very much like a Sega Mega Drive style game. In fact, the style would be better likened to one of those useless games that you get for a PC, and that come on a cheap CD enclosed with your Sunday news paper. The idea of the game is to rotate a play board with fruit icons inside, and as you rotate the board, the fruit falls through the space inside. The aim is to group the fruits together. I felt it was very much like a tetris style game wherein you twist the board to make the blocks (fruit) fall... therein is the game title. Annoyingly stupid, the game forces you to put the controls down and switch the machine off. This game, so far (February 07), is priced at around £25. I wouldn't even spen 25 pence on it. The best use for this game is to grab some stir fry essentials, and cook a meal on it, using the disc as a wok. 1 for Music 1 for complexity 4 for pick up and playability (because you can, but will soon put it down again) 1 for graphics (MegaDrive style) 1 for concept (dodgy PC Sunday paper give-away style) PS. would sell my grandmother just to raise cash to give away, and hopefully force people not to give it me as a crappy gift... I'd prefer a pair of socks.

Fun for about 10 minutes... I didn't think the game was quite as bad as the previous review said, but it wasn't far off. If it was on XBox Live Arcade for 400 points, I still probably wouldn't buy it.. There just doesn't seem to be enough to it. I can't quite see how it could be worth £25. It's the sort of game that someone could have written on a ZX Spectrum in an hour or two... By all means rent it for a day or so, just to see for yourself, but definitely don't bother buying until you've rented it and seen if you like it.
