Thanks to the groundbreaking EA SPORTS Century Stick control system, batting has become more intuitive, responsive and rewarding than ever.
For the first time in a cricket game, players can enjoy full control over foot choice, shot, direction, power and timing, all governed through the use of both analog sticks. A back or front foot stroke is selected with the left stick, then shot timing and direction are judged with the right stick. Power is determined by how far the stick is moved - a slight tap can nudge the ball for a quick single or a firm push can send the ball fizzing away to the boundary.
Allied to new cameras that deliver a more natural behind-the-stumps batting perspective and a wider view of the field, cricket has never been so easily accessible. With embellished gameplay, a wealth of tournaments, genuine equipment and authoritative new commentary from Mark Nicholas and Richie Benaud, you won't experience cricket this authentic without donning whites and walking down the pavilion steps yourself.

| I had hours of fun with this game. If set to the right difficulty level, it can become very challenging yet extremely rewarding. Good graphics and the new analogue stick control improves the gameplay dramatically. Once you get into it, it becomes very absorbing and can provide hours of entertainment. Shame I had to send it back. | ||

| Definitely the best game of cricket on the PS2. Good learning curve means that although you'll soon work out strategies against certain bowlers, different conditions and field settings will make you think again. Graphics are good and the analogue stick controls for batting feels more natural than the old approach of different buttons for different strokes. It's also worth mentioning that bowling can also be entertaining for short sections as you can work out a series of deliveries to trap the batsman into getting out. All in all, worth renting, and due to the extensive season mode I ended up buying the game. | ||

| Alright I got this game before but because it was blockbuster it was a bit annoying.I got it again. This game simply could have been better. Filled to the brim with glitches, although it is a good game to rent until Brian Lara '07 comes out. One glitch particularly noticeable- watch Panesar when he practises bowling before starting- he bowls with his right hand! The batting is too simple, and i wish when you were bowling, the batsman would play in a not so great style IE when you bowl spin they make mistakes. AND THE CMMENTARY- how many times have i hit the batsman and he says" Hmm will he be able to continue?" HE ALWAYS DOES! This game is as about good as The Ashes campign down under! | ||

| Agree with much of the previous review. A lot of glitches/inconsistencies. Another similar example, Strauss gets a century, but they show a cut scene of Trescothick celebrating! The commentary is very repetitive. And it has the age old problem of any cricket game, you need to play for a long time to get anywhere...playing a proper test match is nigh on impossible unless you have a LOT of time on your hands. It's not absolutely awful, but the Brian Lara games are better. | ||
