Call of Duty 3 Description

Call of Duty 3 takes gamers closer than ever to the fury of combat during the Normandy Breakout, the historic campaign that made the liberation of Paris possible and brought the Allies a step closer to Berlin. Players assume the roles of four Allied soldiers (American, British, Canadian and Polish) who must fight German forces on an authentic battlefield. With an unprecedented variety of combat, detailed character animations, high-definition graphics and violent on-screen action, number 3 is certainly the most immersive and realistic of the Call of Duty series. There are numerous new features in Call of Duty 3, including an all-new close-quarters battle mechanic that allows players to disarm traps, fight hand-to-hand, detonate explosive devices and execute many other battlefield situations that require rapid reflexes to survive. Up to 24 players can fight it out online with the option of single or split-screen Internet play. Gamers have the choice to play as infantry or commandeer multiple-occupancy vehicles such as jeeps, tanks and motorcycles with side-cars that lead to unique mobile combat roles for action-packed multiplayer action. The game also offers soldier classes, each with their own unique abilities and a ranking system for truly diversified squad combat. The Xbox 360 version of the game has been built from the ground up, with a new physics engine and advanced graphics that really does bring the war to life. Next-generation level design gives players multiple attack routes so they can decide how best to confront an enemy soldier (flank an opponent or hit him head-on, for example). The Xbox 360 gets its golden dog-tag with COD3, a real cinematic war experience.

Not since the first time I powered on my SNES and played Super Mario Kart has a game got me so immersed so quickly. Those days of staying up till 3am even on a "school night" returned to my life with COD3. The game totally immerses you in WWII France, and the depth and quality of your surroundings is easy to miss as the gameplay takes over your mind. It is a long time since the events depicted in this game actually happened, and many of the people who witnessed it have passed away. But dear god, this game gives you some idea of what they went through. If you are yet to experience this game, your life is shallow, and empty in comparisson.

COD3 is quite simply a game to fill the void until COD4 is released. Who knows what they have planned for number 4 maybe alien mutants come down and defeat the Americans and you must repel them back to their homeworld. Thing is, why dwell on the future when you have this game right in front of you now, present ready to be played. It sounds, looks and plays like a next-gen game. Granted it isn’t very innovative but it is still an awesome game and if you don’t want to buy it for the campaign then buy it for the multiplayer, you haven’t lived until you play COD3 online with 23 guys all trying to get that special item which will end the war, oh right it's called a flag.

CoD 3 has a great single player game and a truly amazing online game. The only critism is that the online mode some times crashes or glitches out but a patch has just been released which makes it fine with no lag. The single player game is totally immersive it feels like you jumped into another world. The missions range from driving jeeps, driving tanks and playing on foot. Also if anyone wants to give me a game my tag is Sneaky McGuff.
