Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged : Volume 1 Description

Don't worry if you haven't got an Xbox Live connection. Now it's possible to play six of the greatest XBLA games with Xbox Live: Arcade Unplugged. The games included in this compilation are Geometry Wars Retro Evolved, Texas Hold'em, Outpost Kaloki X, Wik: Fable of Souls, Bejeweled 2: Deluxe and Hardwood Backgammon. There is also a free one-month subscription to Xbox Live Gold. Geometry Wars Retro Evolved is a space shooter and one of the most popular games on Xbox Live Arcade. With Texas Hold'em it is possible to play the most popular poker variant played in most casinos in the United States in the comfort of your own home. Outpost Kaloki X is a space station tycoon game where you must entertain visiting aliens, solve various challenges and make as much money as possible. Wik: Fable of Souls is a platform game set in a fairytale world with 120 single player levels and 7 modes of play. Bejeweled 2: Deluxe is a puzzle game in teh same vein as Tetris, with great special effects and glittering graphics. Finally, Hardwood Backgammon lets you play a game of classic Backgammon against the computer, against a friend or against an online opponent via Xbox Live. Armed with the aforementioned one-month subscription to Xbox Live Gold and an Internet connection, Xbox Live: Arcade Unplugged owners can sample all the benefits of the real Xbox Live: Arcade.

Certainly worth renting if you just don't feel like purchasing these games from the Marketplace.

This is a pretty good selection of Live Arcade games, however if you have Xbox live you're far better off just downloading the trial versions, as for the most part there's not huge amounts of difference. However if you don't have access to the trials it's probably worth a rent.
