Over G Fighters Description

The birth of the World Federation Preliminary Establishment Committee marked an end to the blood-soaked history of war and the first step towards the creation of a single, unified world state. However, militant groups rose up in opposition to the plan. Chaos began to erupt around the globe. Considering the gravity of the situation, the committee created the guardians of unification - the International Special Peace Corps. Known as the Energy Air Force, they have been entrusted with the task of bringing about the unification of all mankind and creating a true world federation without conflict or war. So, you'd expect the skies to be a quiet place, yes? Oh no…after all, what'd Over G Fighters be without a bit of air combat. Another flight sim, anyone? Thought not… Anyhow, Over G Fighters is basically Taito's old and revered Energy Airforce game, an air combat simulator that had a cult following on PS2. In Over G Fighters, a terrorist organisation threatens the world's peace and security as brave new pilots take to the skies in a united world air force. Players command more than 30 of the most powerful jet fighters ever conceived and battle for air superiority in massive dogfights in the skies above Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. Players combat enemies in the air and on the ground with challenging and dangerous strike missions against well-defended targets deep in the heart of hostile territory. With 80+ missions and the opportunity to go online and fight the good fight internationally, Over G Fighters is a modern day combat sim to savour.

More simulation than arcade, so if you want a fast paced plane shooting game, you best stay away. I can't put this game down, it is quite difficult to master, but makes it more worthwhile when you do. Missions can range from very short to quite long (mission progression is slightly under your control, the path you take to the main chapter mission is up to you.) , and vary between air,sea and ground attacks/protection. There are plenty of planes to unlock and they all handle very differently from each other. Some of us will love and some will hate it, there will be no middle ground with this one. Enjoy

Overall the game is a bit of a letdown. It looked so promising, but like so many other games it just looks like its been rushed onto the 360 with only one goal, to make a bit of cash on the side while Ubisoft and Taito concentrate on bigger projects. In terms of graphics it’s too bland, audio is too annoying and gameplay is too simply and far too slow. It truly is a shame as it could have been so much better than this pile of petroleum. Well we can only hope SEGA’s AfterBurner ends up a little better than OverG. Full Review - http://360monster.com/review.php?id=0000000141

I find this game pretty frustrating. How do i drop chaff in the event of missile strikes against me and how do i give my wingman orders? Also, i find this game pretty slow in manouvering considering its a jet plane simulator - blazing angels planes manouver alot quicker. Apart from that, looks good and quite easy for getting achievements - thats if you dont get shot down like!!!

Bland graphics in parts, boring missions, sound is poor, radio chatter is fair, and why is the Brit pilot so obviously an american trying to do the accent?! One thing i did like were the Replays, the aircraft themselves look fantastic, looks like the spent more time on those than the game itself. BTW is G fighters a rehash or part portover of the PC sim "Lock-on"? Some of the scenery look very familiar.

I opened the case for this and was really excited putting it on as I had waited ages for this to come out. Been wanting another flying game after completing Blazing Angels .... and boy was I let down! Visuals look like a half decent XBox game (that's me being nice!!), and the game is seriously slow. Gameplay doesn't quite add up either! I played it on arcade settings and got so frustrated trying to blow up ground targets I had to turn off the 360 and go and calm down! I not even going to contemplate putting it on 'realistic' settings!! If you have the patience, it may be worth the play, but certainly not worth the buy, RENT, don't waste £50 on this!

Very Poor, seems to be a conversion of a very old arcade game from the 80's. Overly slow and unessecery confirmation menus (is it an EA game? :)) The sub par graphics...have they heard that textures can now be bigger than 64x64? Even worse dull game play...square box appears, press A, move to next box.

What a slow, dull, and uninspiring game. Graphics aren't even trash, this kind of standard game should have stopped as soon as all the xbox and PS2 ports onto the 360 did. I thought the quality of games would improve, but i have sadly been proved wrong. Disapointing gameplay that is incredibly repetitive and far too easy even on expert. The only thing that slowed me down was the ridiculously tedious waits after killing a few planes or destroying a target before your next similar objective is given.

i would never buy this game ever not even if it was the only game in the shop

Bad graphics, bad gameplay, it was more fun sending it back than it was playing. Ace combat 6 or the new tom clancy game, hawx, is a much safer bet.
