If you're confused by Ubisoft's release plans for Far Cry these days, you're not the only one. Following the first console game in the series, Far Cry Instincts, the company is releasing a pair of new titles to hit stores at the same time, one for Xbox and the other for Xbox 360. The confusing part is that neither of these two games are traditional sequels: the Xbox game (Evolution) is essentially just an expansion pack, while the 360 game, known as Predator, is a package that combines both the original Far Cry Instincts with Evolution. Predator increases the graphical quality to make the whole thing appropriate for the 360. We hope that things are much clearer now for you, dear reader. Firstly, there is the whole of the single player campaign from Instincts on the 360. The game, places you in the unenviable shoes of Jack Carver, ex-Navy Seal and current drunken captain for adventurous tourists. During a trek out to some islands with a sexy journalist chick who has more money than sense, things go seriously wrong. Attacked on all sides by mercenaries in helicopters, you're forced to flee into the jungle, using various survival tactics. Yes, as those of you who played through the last version in the series will recall, there were certain factors that were added to the game. The most popular were the feral powers like super speed and the ability to track enemies by scent. Good news for all you fans of Wolverine, because these are back, and greatly improved on. As we already mentioned along with the full game of Instincts, you have the bonus of a brand new single player campaign called Evolution. This takes place after the events of Instincts, and sees Jack back in Micronesia trying to put some steam on the table, before being approached by another sex bomb called Kade and is enlisted to help her on a smuggling mission. It all goes horribly wrong and Jack is framed for the murder of a government official. It is up to you to help Jack prove his innocence and take on all-comers. Fortunately, for Jack, he has all of his feral powers straight at the start of the game. There is also a fantastic map editor available and the multiplayer mode is great fun.

No different to the Xbox version but with pretter graphics but the sound in the game seens to be quieter

FarCry is a fairly decent game with lots of content. The graphics (especially water) are great although not the best on the 360. The single player campaign is long and provides a difficult challenge. Multiplayer has good elements but it became hard to find games due to a lack of people online in the game. The AI can be a little dumb at times and the enviroment barely reacts to gunshots which can take away from the quality of the gameplay. Avoid this game if you had it on the xbox (1) because the graphics are not a massive leap in quality and you will have to play through the "instincts" story to get to the new "predator" content. Those of you that want a game for easy gamerscore points also avoid it as points are very difficult to get and alot are achieved in multiplayer.

Worth renting rather than buying, as its worth experiencing through to the end. From there on its about multiplayer which isn't fantastic, despite the scope for play and map making. Give it a try for a few days.

Far Cry Instincts Predator, is game that some like and some don't, for me it didn't really get my attention to stay and play the game long enough, its single player mode is very difficult at the beginning and its multiplayer modes are a bit weak compared to other FPS games out on the 360 and getting Gamer score is very difficult to get, I could only get 55 through multiplayer mode. The one thing I did like is the Map Maker, it was fun to mess about with it, although soon it did wear off. I think it can be a good game if you've got the time and patience, although for me it wasn't better than other FPS's.

This game is terrible I thought it would be good (it would have been better if I hadn't played the Xbox one). But the graphics are quite good but Xbox Live lacks a lot of features:(

This game is awfull. It is a Xbox game that has had minor tweaks and been re-released on xbox 360. this failed to draw me in from the start. i played it for about 15mins and felt a violent need to rip it out of my console and snap the disk!! Instead i resealed it and posted it back. A waste of time.
