The Warriors Description

The 1979 cult film the Warriors told the story of the eponymous gang from Coney Island, New York City. At a meeting of gangs from all five boroughs, Cyrus, a gangland kingpin, announces his plan to unite all the gangs into a supergang. He points out that the combined members of all the gangs present number 16,000 - only a few less than the total number of police in NYC - 'Can you dig it?'. But before his well received dream can become a reality, he is shot, and The Warriors, though it was not them, are blamed. This is the premise that sets up the film, as the Warriors try to escape back to their home with all the other gangs of New York baying for their blood. You might have noticed that the people at Rockstar like nothing better than a bit of violence, so it is not surprising that they've chosen to make a pretty violent film into a game. The game is an ultra faithful adaptation of the film, and sees you and your gang fleeing across the Big Apple from the scene of the murder at Van Cortlandt Park back to Cony Island. The only problem is, you have to cross a lot of other people's turf to get their. It's basically a non stop brawl, and there's plenty of thumping punches and back breaking bear hug moves. It's as sure to delight fans of Rockstar's work as it is to dismay the detractors of their slightly one track violent formula. But if you're a fan of the film and you play videogames, then you're pretty likely to want to buy this.

Overall its a good game. I like the features like robbing car stereos and tagging, even though at times iy can get frustrating. On one player i didnt find it as good as what it was on 2 player. Some good battles on the game but too short to buy definatley better to rent.

Decent game based on the 70's movie This is a fairly good game. It has a good story, nice music and true to the original film. It's cool that voice acting is done by the actual actors. It's also neat how there is a bunch of new story written to tie into the film. It is, however, too short. Definitely worth a rent tho. The game proves that Rockstar has some decent stuff that isn't from GTA . One of my fave features is the fact that a 2nd player can press start at any time to join the game. It is a great game, even if you know nothing about the 1979 film.
